Traffic & Parking

Traffic conditions and parking can be difficult on commencement day. Please help to minimize the number of vehicles on campus by car pooling, if possible. Campus police will direct vehicles to designated parking areas. At approximately 7:30 a.m., Metzger Drive will have one way traffic flow only. At approximately 8:30 a.m., C-Street will be closed.

Arriving on Campus

Please be aware that nearby Rider University’s commencement exercises are taking place on the same day. Traffic in and around the area will be heavy, so please plan for extra travel time.

When arriving at The College of New Jersey, you will be able to use both lanes on Route 31/Pennington Road to enter the campus at the Carlton Avenue entrance.  You may find using the Green Lane entrance a quicker way to arrive on campus.  Police Officers from the College and Ewing Township will be posted out at both entrances to help direct you onto and around the campus in a safe manner.

Parking

Only vehicles bearing state-issued handicapped license plates and/or window placards will be permitted to park in the designated special needs parking area (Lots 3 , 5 & 9B). Vehicles without handicapped plates will be permitted to drop off mobility-impaired guests at either the Paul Loser Hall Circle or via Green Lane entry to Lot#9B Decker Parking. Golf carts will be available to transport these guests to desired campus locations.

Traffic will be heavy in and around campus on commencement day, so please drive safely and be patient. Please plan on extra travel and parking time.
